Publisher documentation
Ask your AI client for a website and get a public address back. Publisher runs in your own Cloudflare account, and any connected AI client can pick up a site where another left off.
What you need
- A Cloudflare account. The free plan works. Publisher creates Workers and a KV namespace in it.
- An AI client that can add a custom MCP connector: Claude (web, Desktop, mobile, Claude Code) or ChatGPT.
You do not need GitHub, a terminal, or an API key from your AI provider.
Install Publisher (once)
- Open publisher.jumpermcp.dev, choose Install on my Cloudflare, sign in to Cloudflare and pick the account. If you are interrupted, the installer resumes where it stopped.
- Open the setup link the installer shows and create your owner password. The link is single-use and expires quickly, so nobody else can claim your Publisher.
- In your Publisher's Cloudflare settings, open Create your publishing key and follow the steps to create a Cloudflare API token with Workers Scripts: Edit permission. Paste it into your Publisher only, never into a chat.
- Copy the MCP URL from the AI connections panel. It looks like
https://publisher-xxxxxxxx.your-name.workers.dev/mcp. Keep the/mcpat the end.
Connect Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and add Jumper Publisher (from the directory, or with Add custom connector).
- Paste your MCP URL, including
/mcp. - Claude opens your Publisher's sign-in page. Sign in with your owner password and approve access.
A connector added on claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop, Claude mobile and Claude Code. After a Publisher update, use Refresh tool list in the connector settings so Claude sees new tools.
Connect Claude Code
Claude Code can use the claude.ai connector above. To give Claude Code its own connection instead:
- In your control panel, under AI connections → AI apps on this computer, choose Allow AI apps on this computer. This is off by default because any program on your computer can then ask for access. Approve only sign-ins you just started.
- Run
claude mcp add --transport http publisher <your MCP URL>. - In Claude Code, run
/mcp, choose the Publisher server and sign in.
Connect ChatGPT
- Free accounts first turn on developer mode (Settings → Security & login).
- Open Plugins → Add → Custom MCP server and paste your MCP URL, including
/mcp. - Sign in with your owner password and approve access.
Everyday use
Ask for a website and mention Publisher:
- "Create a one-page site for our street party on 14 November and publish it with Publisher."
- "Publish the calculator we just made as pants-math."
Your AI client replies with an address like https://pants-math.your-name.workers.dev.
To change a site later, start a new chat in any connected client and name the site, paste its address, or give its project ID:
- "In Publisher, make the pants-math background blue."
- "Undo the last change to pants-math."
- "Unpublish the street party page."
Publisher changes only what you asked for and republishes at the same address. If an edit would rewrite much more or much less than expected, Publisher holds it back for review instead of publishing. If two chats edit the same site at once, the second one is told the site has changed instead of overwriting the first.
Your AI client may ask you to confirm before it publishes, restores or unpublishes. Everything you publish is public.
Images, ZIPs and large files
AI clients send text through their tools. For images, ZIPs and files over 256 KB, Publisher hands out a one-time upload link (valid 10 minutes), and the client sends the file there from its code sandbox or shell. The file never passes through the chat.
- claude.ai: turn on Settings → Capabilities → Code execution and file creation and Allow network egress, and add your Publisher's host (or
*.workers.dev) under additional allowed domains. - Claude Code: nothing to set up.
- ChatGPT: attach the file to the chat and ask to publish it. If ChatGPT can't find the file, attach it again rather than letting it recreate the file from memory.
Your control panel
Open your Publisher's address (without /mcp) and sign in with your owner password.
- Public projects: every site, with unpublish, export and permanent delete.
- Recent operations: publish progress and errors.
- AI connections: your MCP URL, every connected AI client with Revoke, the last refused sign-in, and the switch for AI apps on this computer.
- Cloudflare settings: add or replace your publishing key, and Change Publisher login password (Publisher 0.1.18 or later). Changing the password signs out every other browser and every connected AI client.
- Publisher updates: Check for updates shows the next signed release and its notes; Update Publisher installs it. Your sites stay online.
Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_projects | Lists your sites, names and public addresses. |
get_project | Shows a site's files and publication history. |
read_files | Reads a text file. |
search_files | Searches a site's text. |
stage_project | Prepares new or changed files as a private draft. |
edit_file | Prepares exact text replacements as a private draft. |
create_upload | Creates a one-time upload link for images, ZIPs and large files. |
publish_project | Publishes a draft. The files become public. |
get_operation | Shows publish progress. |
restore_revision | Republishes an earlier version (undo). |
export_project | Creates a 5-minute download link for a site's files. |
unpublish_project | Takes a site offline and keeps its files. |
Deleting projects and updating Publisher happen only in your control panel, never through an AI client.
What it can host
- Static websites: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and other files, loose or as a ZIP with an
index.html. Built output from React, Vue and similar frameworks works. Publisher does not run builds, server code or databases. - 20 sites, 100 files and 25 MB per site, 10 MB per file.
- The latest 20 published versions of each site are kept for undo.
- A custom domain works if you attach it to the site's Worker in Cloudflare (Settings → Domains & Routes).
Troubleshooting
The AI client says the publishing key or API token is missing
Add a Cloudflare API token in your Publisher's Cloudflare settings (install step 3). The form is in your Publisher, not on the installer site.
Claude says it couldn't register or sign in
Check that the URL ends in /mcp and that your Publisher is version 0.1.15 or later (control panel → Publisher updates). Your control panel shows the reason under AI connections → Last refused sign-in.
Claude Code says localhost sign-in is turned off
Allow it under AI connections → AI apps on this computer, or use the claude.ai connector instead.
Claude can't upload an image or ZIP
Turn on code execution and network egress on claude.ai and allow your Publisher's host (see Images, ZIPs and large files).
New tools don't show up after an update
Use Refresh tool list in Claude's connector settings, or reconnect the connector in ChatGPT.
Published, but the address doesn't load yet
New addresses can take a few minutes. Check Recent operations: "activated" means Cloudflare has the site and it will appear shortly.
The name is already taken
Choose another site name, or ask your AI client to update the existing project instead.
Out of space
Export and delete old sites in the control panel. Live sites are never removed to make room.
Change or reset my owner password
If you still know it, use Change Publisher login password in the control panel. If you lost it, reset it from your Cloudflare dashboard; see the recovery guide. Resetting signs out every connected AI client.
Remove an AI client's access
Use Revoke next to it under AI connections → Connected apps. A claude.ai connector used inside Claude Code shares claude.ai's sign-in, so revoking it signs out both.
Uninstall Publisher
Export what you want to keep, then follow the uninstall steps.
Support
Email [email protected] or open an issue on GitHub. Please include your Publisher version and, if there is one, the error code. Never send your owner password or API token.
